Splurge on a convenience that will free up time or energy for resistance work. If you get a cooking convenience, could you share meals with a neighbor? If you get the car cleaned, would you carpool or offer rides? Would an out of work neighbor want to help you out with some (paid!) overdue chores?
At more than a year into fascism, it’s easy to get burned out and feels safer to stop caring. If you’re low on energy go back to basics: what did you work on “before all this?” Being engaged and caring about something is fighting fascism. They want us demoralized and exhausted. Push back by caring out loud.
Are you planning a spring garden? Help build food resilience: donate extra seed to a seed library, grow starts or seedlings to share, or plant extra. Food resilience is mutual aid, and prices are skyrocketing. If you aren’t a gardener, do you know someone who might appreciate some help this year? Support healthy locally grown food access.
We don’t need a hero. We need 12.2 million average Americans.
We believe…
That non-violent resistance is the most effective way to restore democracy. Research tells us that when 3.5% of a population engages in sustained resistance, democracy wins. In the U.S. that’s a whopping 12.2 million people, but for some perspective, it’s only 16% of the people who cast a vote for Harris/Walz in 2024 (74.7 million).
To beat back fascism, we need a whole lot of average Americans to start taking small, regular actions. That’s our whole “lane” : simple ideas to get you started.
We know…
That it’s hard to take action. Most of the things we can do feel so small they couldn’t possibly matter. Figuring out what to do when there are so many problems and a firehose of bad news is overwhelming.
Worse, even small actions take real courage! Calling your Senator, protesting, or speaking up feels like too little AND it’s hard! It’s easier to convince ourselves it couldn’t possibly matter, and do nothing. Take it from us: the only thing that has ever mattered is doing something.
We think…
If you’re here, you want to be on the right side of history. You want to look back and say “I did all that I could.” You’re taking the first step right now. Bookmark this site, or follow our daily posts on social media (BlueSky, Substack & Facebook), and take action as often as you can.
Daily, weekly, or one weekend a month like a civilian anti-fascist National Guard: make resistance a habit. We’re average people, just like you, doing what we can to help others overcome decision paralysis so we can get to work.
regular public protest helps build the movement
On June 14th, more than 5 million Americans rose up. October 18th, we do it again.
Over time, as we back-load eight months of daily tasks, we will introduce tags to help you find activities quickly. This is all entirely volunteer run, with no monetization, so please be patient. 🙂
Spend Money
If you’re tight on time, every resistance group can use money towards the fight! We try to offer a mix of options from recurring donations to vetted groups, to spending changes that put your money to work for your values.
Spend Time
Putting our time and energy into resistance is the backbone of the movement. Whether you’re retired but not sure where to start, or you have an hour once a week, we’ll help you find something you have time for. (We hope to add a “quick actions” option soon, with tasks that take ten minutes or less.)
Get Prepared
Resistance takes time and stamina, which means we have to prepare for the long haul. That means putting our own oxygen mask on first! In this category we’ll help you build resilience, community, and knowledge.
