Be a Tourist
Get tickets to a museum or arboretum. Have lunch at a local restaurant. Check shops for locally-made holiday gifts. Find out what makes your home great, invest in local venues and products, and tell people! Bonus points for “DEI” activities, like museums that cover less-glorious chapters of American history, or restaurants featuring food from persecuted immigrants.
This counters Trump’s disinformation, but it also helps support industries reeling from our mistreatment of international visitors.

How to do it:
If we don’t appreciate the things we have, we won’t notice when they’re gone. I live in Seattle, and encounter people who think it was burned to the ground in 2020 on the regular. (It was not.) By spending time doing things locals never get around to, I help support the economy. When I post images online of the fun I’m having, I encourage others to visit too. International tourism is down, so you won’t even have to fight the usual crowds.
If you’re fortunate enough to live near a city that’s been slandered by the regime plan a road trip or weekend away and do the same thing. Portland, Chicago, LA, NYC are world-class destinations missing their world visitors, thanks to our treatment of tourists. Spend the day, or plan a weekend. Post lots of pictures!
