Call Congress

Call your Senator: “First, I want the Senator to oppose any legislation that pre-empts state AI laws. Recent reporting shows that self-driving cars have ten times the accident rate of human-driven cars.

Second, I understand that Sen. Adam Schiffis going to ask for unanimous consent for a bill requiring the administration to release the Sept. 2 boat strikes video. If Hegseth committed crimes, he needs to be held accountable.”

How to do it:

Make calling Congress something you do when you have a few spare minutes. You have two Senators and a Representative. Store their numbers in your phone, and call them frequently.

The easiest way to identify your two Senators and one Representative is to use the 5calls web site. Enter your address (or the address of a nearby business) and it’ll bring up the names and contact information you need. From there you can use their scripts or app to call, or freelance.

If you call after hours you’ll leave a message. Make sure you include your name and voting zip code, along with your position. If you reach a person, be polite. They’re likely an intern.

Why we do it:

If you aren’t convinced elections matter, ask yourself if President Harris would have torn down one-third of the White House or be holding SNAP hostage to get her way. Politics matter, and politicians are mostly weak-willed. Bring about enough pressure and they justify new positions. To get there faster, we need more people to call. In particular, we need more men to call. One survey found 80% of calls are from women, and women’s voices are routinely discounted. If you’re a guy, make more calls!
