Cancel Corporate

You’ve heard of cancel culture, can we present Cancel Corporate, where we pick a company that’s being shitty and cancel them until they improve?

We’ll launch this series with Paramount+, which just ended the longrunning Colbert show over what appears to be currying favor to get a merger deal through the regime.

How to do it:

CBS says cancelling Colbert was purely financial, but it came right after he criticized Paramount for settling a specious lawsuit with a $16 million handout to Trump. Many insiders believe CBS/Paramount are currying favor with the regime, and Jimmy Kimmel is leading calls to hit Paramount where they say they care: in the wallet.

This works best if it’s concentrated: if a LOT of people cancel quickly, they’ll see the signal. Don’t wait to not re-up — cancel NOW even if you have time left on your subscription. Consider a PBS Passport to replace the programming.

“Here’s the secret they don’t want you to know!”

Most subscriptions run to the end of the subscription period even if you cancel today. It might sound cynical but they only see patterns. If ten thousand people unsub and then five thousand re-sub on the staggered dates when their subscription actually ends, they see a signal and you don’t lose a single day of access. If you aren’t ready to dump your favorite show’s new season, or morning puzzles with your work wife, you can still help boost the signal.

We’ll update this post with topical companies to cancel as events occur.
