Daily Puzzle
Enjoy a daily word puzzle? Why not put that mental energy into resistance? Each day choose a topic that’s trending. Pick a story or meme about it and set yourself the task of an “elevator pitch’ to explain it. If you’re not familiar, that’s a very quick summary you could share in the time between two floors on an elevator. Use your pitch in conversation, or write it onto post-it notes and leave them in relevant places!

How to do it:
A member of 50501 inspired this post with their actions: “On social, we see political memes. I’ve been boiling down the messages to fit on a slip of paper or Post-it note. It’s a bit of a brain game. I take the notes and stick them in my wallet. When I’m out and about, I leave notes to my fellow Americans. I particularly like leaving messages under TP rolls in restrooms and in tip jars folded in a dollar bill. The people who sees these notes work there. They probably don’t have the bandwidth to follow political insanity. Leave notes behind arthritis meds about healthcare, and about birth control in the diaper aisle. This is what Free Speech looks like. Both Spoken And Written! It’s cheap, easy, non-confrontational advertising. Grassroots need seeds. We can plant millions of seeds.”
If you enjoy the competitive play of your daily Wordle, make it a team sport: every evening pick an issue, a story, or a meme to send out. Everyone on the list competes to distill it down into bite-sized, dynamic messages. It’s a great way to get people talking and help more reticent folks get involved. Even if you’d never speak up publicly, someone else in the group might like your idea!
