Go to a Museum
Go to a museum. Visit a park. Ride the bus. If we don’t use public resources, they look expendable. When we appreciate them, we stand up for them.
Pay admission, or check your city for “public access” dates. (In Seattle, that’s the first Thursday of each month.)

Why we do it:
Museums inspire or make us think. Libraries provide so much more than books: computers and printers, events for children and tax help, public meeting spaces and more. Buses help reduce congestion, reclaim our commute time, and support our poorest neighbors. Parks give us a place to walk, play, or hold a family reunion.
Public spaces are the best of society, but if we don’t use them, we’ll lose them. Spend time exploring your city with the eyes of a tourist. Where do you forget to go? Where have you always meant to visit? Explore local resources too: your library probably holds events you’d value, if you knew about them. Whenever you can, buy tickets or donate, but if money is tight use the programs for free admission generously. (Seattle examples below.)
