Learn Something
Learning new skills is a great way to build community, maintain our mental flexibility, and increase our confidence (helping us resist fear!)
Make a list of things you always wanted to learn. If it involves stretching your mind, it counts: a book you always wanted to read, or learning soccer both belong on the list.

How to do it:
Start by making your wish list. Put everything on it. We are not filtering for realistic goals right now. If you always wanted to learn to fly, or to speak Mandarin, put it on the list right next to “learn to bake a cake” and “learn to do a perfect push-up.”
Put the list somewhere visible, or tuck it in a drawer. Every month choose one thing on the list. If it’s small, accomplish it by the end of the month. If it’s big, take a few steps towards it. You could take a trial flying lesson, or sign up for a month of duolingo, for example.
Why we do it:
The biggest obstacle most of us face is a lack of confidence that we can make a difference. We’ve never lobbied our Senator, so we don’t know how to begin. We haven’t been to a protest yet, and it feels too late now. By choosing a task we’re interested in and learning to do it, we’re showing ourselves we can learn new skills and do new things! We build confidence, and along the way expand our community too.
Joy is Resistance. They want us to cower in fear. Scream bad Mandarin at them instead!
