Minnesota

It’s hard to keep up with stories out of Minneapolis right now, and whenever donations pour in, scammers descend. It makes it hard to know what to trust for charity-minded outsiders, but a local from the area put together a site with resources. We still suggest checking details. She’s working fast in shifting sand and everyone makes mistakes, but this is a really solid starting point.

How to do it:

It’s worth pausing to ask why Minnesota? They went in with 2000 agents, a massive force compared to other invasions, and they quickly moved to widespread violence. After killing Renee Good they added another 1000 agents. It’s a level of saturation they couldn’t hit in LA or Chicago, simply due to the populations there. To add more agents in Minnesota, they had to pull them from other locations. ICE is struggling to hire, and it shows. A credible argument has been made that ICE is concentrating its dominance in Minnesota hoping we’ll all think it can do the same thing everywhere. It can’t.

And with our help, it won’t even succeed there. Visit Stand With Minnesota to find ways to help from anywhere:

  • Donate cash or goods to local mutual aid funds
  • Donate to GoFundMes for victims
  • Find and follow local organizers on social media
  • Call Congress. Script here.

The site also has a page full of local news organizations you can read and share (or donate to!) and a page full of testimonies from local people whose stories have passed basic reality checks by a local.
