Regift Starbucks
Are you in a profession that gets a lot of Starbucks gift cards? Teachers, daycare, even students are given small Starbucks gift cards as though it’s the national currency.
Regift them to unhoused people. Even a small purchase provides WiFi, charging and bathroom access.

How to do it:
That $5 coffee you didn’t really want could be a game-changer for someone struggling with living on the streets. Wifi access is essential to apply for services or jobs. Bathroom access is a game-changer. Starbucks advertises themselves as a “third place” where people can gather, but they changed their policies to require a purchase, so make those cards in your junk drawer go to work.
If you don’t want to hand out cards directly, or you have a lot of accumulated cards, take them to a homeless shelter for distribution, or leave them near an unhoused campsite.
NOTE: this is not a recommendation to BUY Starbucks gift cards. In particular, they’re currently subject to an ongoing boycott. We recommend purchasing small gift certificates from local shops or the chamber of commerce, instead. If someone gifts you cards, though, the money has already passed to Starbucks. Pass them along where they can do the most good.
