Singing Resistance!
Do you love to sing? Singing Resistance is providing tools for a decentralized music-oriented group that engages in actions like singing in solidarity or to bring visibility. More than just singing, this is a way to connect with like-minded people. The organizing document is clear, explicit, and easy to follow. Even if singing isn’t your thing, if you’ve been considering taking a step into organizing, read through their materials!

How to do it:
Organize: Start with the Google Doc that describes their decentralized model. Learn how the decentralized structure works, where to find groups, and how to start one if nobody has in your area. Even if singing isn’t the kind of organizing you want to do, this is a really useful, detailed organizing guide that would be useful for any new organizer working on nearly any public-facing action.
There is also a zoom training on Sunday, February 8th at 3pm EST (noon PST).
Sing: the songbook is public, so if you aren’t ready to join (or organize) a group, you could still practice the songs (with a couple of friends?) so you’ll be ready if you hear a group singing. Or just show up spontaneously with your friends—this is a decentralized movement! You don’t need permission. (No, we can’t tell you how that’s different from organizing, but maybe it feels easier?)
