Weekend Warrior
Do you feel so guilty about what you can’t do, that it’s hard to do what you could? Be a weekend warrior! I know…it’s a derogatory term, but it shouldn’t be. Weekend warriors use the time they have available in our no-support corporate grind to do the things that matter to them. Join the ranks!

How to do it:
Plan one act of resistance each day of this weekend. (That’s three total things.)
Political resistance
Identify one issue you care about, and call at least one politician. If you have phone anxiety calling after hours is a great hack — you’ll leave a message! If you absolutely positively won’t make phone calls, consider writing postcards. It’s more work to get started, but you could sit in a coffee shop with colored pencils having a grand time! Here are some groups to help you get started:
Community Support
Spend some time exploring your city’s libraries, museums, arts district, or minority businesses. Experience an ethnic culture where you live. Stop into a business with a “No ICE” or rainbow-flag sign in the window and buy something. If you need inspiration, we have a collection of community-oriented actions. Choose something that brings you joy and connection!
Be Visible
Take a minute to build your visibility. If you’ve never protested before, get out there. If you’re nervous park a few blocks away and wander through as a passerby. Pause and chat for ten minutes. If you’re still uncomfortable, say you’re late and hurry off. Other ways to boost your visibility include buying a sweatshirt or pin that makes your stand clear and wearing it regularly. Or write a letter to the editor, or install a yard sign that stands with immigrants. However visible or invisible you are now, explore being just slightly more visible this weekend.
