For Black History Month, donate to the National Association of Black Storytellers: “NABS promotes and perpetuates the art of Black storytelling—an art form which embodies the history, heritage, and culture of African Americans.” They host an annual conference, and offer free storytelling for qualifying institutions. Help support their work.

We’ll list lesser-known, vetted groups worth supporting, or highlight better known non-profits at topical moments. In addition to the currently-featured charity, we’ll maintain a list of prior charities below.
