Shift your spending from massive corporations to small artists, local venues, or better companies. Replace a Sinclair station with PBS, or buy from bookshop.org instead of Amazon. Dump Spotify and buy CDs direct from the artists. Go to local concerts and arts festivals.

One of the most effective ways to shift our spending power is through shifting our entertainment budget. Here are some options:
- Amazon Physical Books → bookshop.org, Powell’s Books or a local bookstore
- Kindle books → Libby for libraries or Project Gutenberg
- Sinclair, Prime, etc. → PBS Passport
- Spotify → Tidal, Bandcamp, Qobuz
To take it up a notch, organize your entertainment budget around local arts. See movies at a local theater, visit museums or cultural events, attend art walks—skip crass commercialism whenever you can. Put money into the hands of creators, not venture capitalists.
