Feeding America
The best way to support food banks is with cash, but surges in cash donations attract scammers. If you don’t know where to donate, choose Feeding America.
Recommended by food banks and Charity Navigator (95%), Feeding America runs a nationwide food distribution network, channeling unsold “waste” food to food banks who distribute it to local charities.

Why do it:
We donate cash to food banks because they have bulk buying power and know what they need. Feeding America super-sizes this by leveraging national buying power to distribute food where it’s needed, and to build programs with industry to divert food waste to feed people.
When an activist contacted the Oregon Food Bank (100% rating on Charity Navigator) to ask if they could take international donations, they recommended Feeding America.
We are not recommending Feeding America over your trusted local resources. Our communities need us. But if you want to donate to food diversion or send your support to wherever needs it most, Feeding America is a reputable clearinghouse with the infrastructure to gear up quickly in times like these.
