Impeach Trump
After SCOTUS ruled that the President is immune from legal accountability for nearly any act related to office, they cited Congressional oversight as our recourse. Congress is supposed to impeach him if he oversteps.
No one rational believes that the 119th Congress will impeach Trump, or that the Senate will convict him, but we don’t do things because we’re sure they’ll work. We take a stand to maintain standards for what’s right.

How to do it:
You can call your House member to demand impeachment any time. Put them on auto-dial and call while you’re stuck in traffic, waiting for the oven to pre-heat or begging the coffee to brew faster. It’s easy: “I’m (name) from (location) and I’m calling to ask why you haven’t impeached Trump yet?” Rant about whatever thing happened this week, or run down a list from memory, or just hang up. The point is not to convince them, it’s to normalize the idea that people expect them to.
The Overton Window is the set of ideas most people consider normal positions. A lot of politics amounts to shoving the window one way or the other. For example, the right is working to make women’s suffrage a topic people debate, rather than a settled fact. When we talk about normalizing things, this is what we mean. Even ten years ago someone seriously raising the idea that women shouldn’t have the vote would have been considered absurd, but today we’re talking about it again. In the context of impeachment, our goal is to not allow the window to shift to “nobody serious is discussing impeachment”. We want to keep it at “impeachment is obviously the right thing to do, and if we can’t do it now, we’ll do it as soon as we can.” That’s the message.
In addition to calling whenever you’re bored, there are specific days of action that can amplify your voice. Citizens’ Impeachment is entirely focused on impeaching officials, including Trump, who have violated their duties. They have extensive information about the hows and whys of impeachment, and a weekly action you can take. FlareUSA maintains a calendar of impeachment related actions.
