Activist Training
Want to do more than show up at a protest? Hearing about economic action and looking for ways to get involved? May Day (May 1st) is a traditional date for labor and organizing, and May Day Strong is planning widespread events this year, with promotion from the founders of Indivisible and other protest groups you know.
Learn how to get involved at a Zoom training April 9th at 4pm West Coast Time. (7pm EST)

How to do it:
There are trainings happening every week, for every aspect of activism. It’s hard to keep track, so we’ll post topical options here once or twice a month, and will keep a list of recordings for events you missed.
Most trainings are Zoom based these days, which means you can easily tune in and decide whether it’s for you or not. Some have activities, but many are presentation-based. If you’re busy (or have trouble focusing — I see you ADHD peeps!) consider casting them to your TV in the background while you make dinner or sweep. If a Zoom fills up before you sign in, overflow is often directed to YouTube. Check the organizer’s web site for updates and links.
Ongoing training opportunities (groups we’ve featured):
- WAISN holds bilingual rapid response trainings regularly. Washington specific, but with useful information for anyone fighting for immigrants. Find the next one here.
- Red, Wine & Blue has a whole series of trainings!
- No Kings training channel
- States at the Core does not record trainings, but does have a regular list of upcoming trainings in resisting authoritarianism.
- NDLON (Adopt a Corner) has a calendar of upcoming trainings.
Recordings of past events we featured:
- Indivisible Rapid Response Call after ICE killing of Renee Good. (recording)
- No Kings now offers recordings of past trainings. Look for the small link under the image.
