Trevor Project

The Trevor Project’s purpose is to end suicide among LGBTQ+ youth. They maintain a help line, engage in advocacy work, do research and much more.

Even a single supportive voice can make a big difference in survival rates for queer youth, and amid the escalating attacks on transgender Americans the Trevor Project’s work is more critical than ever. If you can donate, please do.

How to do it:

The Trevor Project’s 24-7 hotline is designed to work for young people who may lack screen privacy or be more comfortable with text. Chat, call or text, or try the 1-minute breathing exercise online if you aren’t ready to reach out. (The online breathing exercise is helpful for anyone struggling with anxiety or overwhelm!) If you’re able to donate or volunteer, the Trevor Project saves lives every day, and has a perfect rating from Charity Navigator.
