There’s now an industry based around building followers and rank with AI slop, then selling the account to malignant actors. Fight back by culling your follows. Make sure the pages and groups you participate in are real people doing their best.

Costco is back in the news for suing Trump over tariffs! While we always recommend local options first, Costco is an ethical backup. Not every family has the space (or need) for three giant bottles of ketchup for the price of two…so consider donating “surplus” units, or forming a mini co-op. It’s an affordable way to engage in mutual aid!

Before the internet, bookstores were the commons for information and community. Today, like all local brick-and-mortar, they’re nearly extinct. We can’t fight oligarchs without addressing monopoly, so one of the ways we resist is through supporting local business. Buy your books locally when you can.
