“Did it” Diary
Instead of a resolution, could we suggest a recollection? Pause to remember everything you’ve done to resist! If you’re just getting started or always draw a blank, then start a “did-it diary” for the coming year!

Create tiny afternoon pick-me-ups to brighten someone’s day, and “spill the tea” on your favorite form of resistance. Write little encouraging notes or print a zine and tuck little bags of joy and resistance into public spaces. Spreading joy is resistance!
When we created this post about zines, this was a green action: freedom of speech is sacrosanct in America. That all changed this week, with several activists sentenced to decades in prison despite leaving a protest before violence broke out. The evidence for conspiracy? Zines and a book club. So click through, learn to fold zines, and spread the resistance!
Before fascism descended, we had real problems. Now we have all those and more. It’s easy to give up hope, but critical that we remember what we’re fighting for. Imagine what you WANT, not just what you’re afraid of. Brainstorm steps to build what you want with a friend, or throw a Hope Party!
If you’re feeling hope, share that as widely as you can. If you’re feeling despair, treat it like the flu: try not to spread it, treat the symptoms, and work to recover. Neither hope nor despair is an objective fact, but despair saps your energy to bring about change. Treat it, don’t feed it.
