Since Trump’s deranged Easter rant, social media has buzzed with speculation about whether Trump “will or won’t” do something almost unimaginably awful. Normally what Trump says and what he does are unrelated, but he adores attention, so in the process we’ve made “will” at least a little more likely. Today, give real thought to everything you share. Bring the temperature in the room down. Change the culture online from attention-seeking to knowledge-sharing, one interaction at a time.
If you get a big refund April 15th, it means you loaned the government interest-free money. Adjust your W-2 withholding to withhold less. Aim for no refund, and a bill under $1000 next April. This is not a tax protest. It’s your legal right to adjust withholding.
Elections matter. If they didn’t, Trump’s election wouldn’t matter. Start talking about how political decisions affect our daily lives. Avoid idealism or quick-fixes.
