Reduce Taxes

Make an IRA or HSA contributionsfor *last* year through April 15th! Reduce taxes paid to this administration, entirely legally. HSAs roll over (unlike some FSAs) and can be used as retirement funds if you never need them. No taxes are due for health care expenses, and funds withdrawn in retirement defer taxes until use. Ask HR if you have access to either program, and consider a 2025 contribution today!

public transportation

Buy a Bus Pass

Public transport is a critical equalizer : the more vulnerable you are, the more you need it. Buy a monthly bus pass for yourself, or someone else. Donate one to a women’s shelter or community college if you don’t need it. And the next time public transit comes up for a vote, support it. Even if you don’t use it, you benefit: just imagine all the additional traffic if nobody rode the bus.
