Tens of thousands of children face a dismal holiday season, all because our nation has decided nobody is innocent enough to evade detention. All too many of those detainees are children themselves. Buy a gift or donate cash to an immigration group buying gifts for children in detention, or left behind. Check with local immigration groups first. If you don’t find a program, we recommend Americans for Immigrant Justice, rated four stars by Charity Navigator.
Plan ahead to buy meaningful gifts that support the world we’re building. Visit craft or ethnic fairs for locally made items, or plan a gift of food treats for the person who already has everything. If it’s the thought that counts, put thought into gifting! Click through for inspiration.
