Spend Time

Putting our time and energy into resistance is the backbone of the movement. Whether you’re retired but not sure where to start, or you have an hour once a week, we’ll help you find something you have time for. (We hope to add a “quick actions” option soon, with tasks that take ten minutes or less.)

Show Up

Movies teach us resistance is about complicated plots and brave attacks, but mostly, it isn’t. Resistance is about sticking together and refusing to give up. Yesterday I felt blue, and first a friend mentioned getting a good idea on this site, then another friend showed up to laugh and eat at a public Chanukiah lighting. I feel better today. Who can you encourage, right now?

Committee for the First Amendment

The Committee for the First Amendment was a McCarthy era resistance group out of Hollywood. Jane Fonda’s father was a founder, and she has re-launched the group. They’re starting with a bang, with an interview with Filipino-American journalist, social media researcher, and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Maria Ressa. We highly recommend watching it!

Patent Defense

“The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has proposed new rules that would severely restrict the public’s ability to challenge improperly granted patents. If adopted, they will give patent trolls exactly what they’ve wanted for years: a way to keep bad patents alive and out of reach.” – EFF.org

Enlisted members of the military can’t just quit, or refuse orders. They can refuse illegal orders, but it’s risky: get it wrong, and you’ll go to military prison. Stand with veterans in Congress who just issued a PSA about this responsibility. Click to learn how.
