Movies teach us resistance is about complicated plots and brave attacks, but mostly, it isn’t. Resistance is about sticking together and refusing to give up. Yesterday I felt blue, and first a friend mentioned getting a good idea on this site, then another friend showed up to laugh and eat at a public Chanukiah lighting. I feel better today. Who can you encourage, right now?

The Committee for the First Amendment was a McCarthy era resistance group out of Hollywood. Jane Fonda’s father was a founder, and she has re-launched the group. They’re starting with a bang, with an interview with Filipino-American journalist, social media researcher, and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Maria Ressa. We highly recommend watching it!

The problems with Spotify are old and well documented, but here’s a new one: they’re selling ICE recruitment advertising, and have not responded to calls to stop.

It’s far from the first problem with Spotify, but make it the last: pick a new platform. We recommend Tidal or Qobuz, for supporting artists with fair payment.

Whether you’re skipping all shopping this week, or boycotting Home Depot, Target and Amazon, take it up a notch with a digital cart jam. Submit comments by December 2nd, opposing this regulatory change.
