Splurge!

Splurge on a small treat for yourself. If money is tight, it can be practical, so long as it feels like a reward. New shoes, indulgent food, art supplies or a night out…

Resistance is exhausting and fascism is a grind. Find a way to treat yourself, even if it’s something small.

Why we do it:

It might seem counterintuitive to splurge when the economy is crashing and people’s needs are at an all-time high, but investing in your mental well being helps you keep fighting. Keep it simple and if you still feel guilty, use it to reward yourself after doing something you’ve been putting off. If you can afford it, create a small stockpile of tiny gifts for days you need encouragement, the way you might reward a child learning a new skill. Wrap them up with a pretty bow!

Twist: you can also do this for someone else. Wrap up little splurges (can be practical) and gift someone a bag of surprises to open on tough days. Or tuck tea bundles into a little library for strangers having a tough day.
