While we we’re all focused on the Epstein files and ICE abuses, House Republicans are trying to steal the midterms. Remember the SAVE act, that would make voting harder for anyone whose name has changed (like many married women)? New propasals do all that and more. While you’re calling, tell the Senate NO FUNDING FOR DHS and claw back ICE funds.
During Black History Month many libraries will have events and book displays. Visit your local library web site’s events page and see if there is something you’d like to attend. Walk in and ask if they have a list of recommended readings this month (or look for a display.) If you don’t have a library card, get one!

Goodwill is convenient, but commercial, and religious charities may discriminate in distribution efforts. What to do? Most areas have at least a few thrift stores designed to benefit a specific target cause: DV victims or immigrants or animals. Some stores accept specific goods like home building or pet supplies that others won’t take. Research local options and take another step away from commercialism!
