The SAVE act is back in the House as MEGA, but it’s the same vote-grab : they require you to prove your citizenship with documents many people don’t have. Obtain certified copies of your birth certificate and any name-changes now. Don’t wait. If you changed your name during marriage, consider getting a passport, as the name-change process may have been informal. If you are gender non-conforming, consult a legal expert before taking action.

Join something

The key to rapid mobilization of any kind is a decentralized mesh of pods that can quickly spread the word and mobilize into a network. The best way to get started is to join a group. Give it a decent try, and if the fit just isn’t there, try again. Alternatively, you can build your own pod by inviting 2-4 friends to take action together, or join you in launching a chapter of a decentralized national group.

Local papers and groups may run special editions with lists of businesses, or look for special events in your area like tasting tours. Gift Back

Businesses in areas hit hard by ICE suffer. From staff decimated by raids and fear, to tear gas and broken windows, it’s hard to stay in operation when the streets have become a war zone. Choose an area currently under attack by ICE, and identify a local business with online sales of goods or gift certificates. Buy something. Donate back to the community, if you can, or just make online purchases.
