During Black History Month, boost minority businesses with reviews and by talking about them. Ask for recommendations on social media, try out new places, then leave a review! Contribute to getting the word out about great minority-owned and local businesses.
Pick an author, musician, comedian or artist who inspires or leads you and find out how they monetize. Pay them directly when you can, and promote them through reviews and word of mouth if you can’t. During Black History Month, support at least one new Black artist with a paid subscription or purchase.

The GOP hates that all-American football chose Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican entertainer, for the halftime show. They called it un-American. Do they really not know Puerto Rico is part of America? The NFL doubled down by adding Green Day as an opening act, so the GOP set up their own half-time show with Kid Rock. That’s a head-to-head viewing battle! Show the NFL they made the right call (this time.)
Weather is getting more extreme, and FEMA appears to be entirely disabled. Being self-sufficient for at least a short time has always been a good idea, but now it’s essential. Pick one task to do today and another to do next weekend.

Go to a museum. Visit a park. Ride the bus. If we don’t use public resources, they look expendable. When we appreciate them, we stand up for them. Pay admission, or check your city for “public access” dates. (In Seattle, that’s the first Thursday of each month.)
