It’s back to school season, and that stretches families! Invite a kid you’re fond of on a shopping trip for a new backpack, shoes or coat, or donate to a school fund to help struggling families.
Pay a “scroll tax” by reporting three awful posts each time you log on to social media. Learn how to report fake accounts, hateful comments and fraud wherever you spend time. Think of it as picking up a few pieces of trash when you visit the beach, for everyone’s benefit. While one report won’t take it down, if enough of us do this it has a cumulative effect.
ICE is ramping up, but quieter this time. Fewer open confrontations with white activists, more snatching from public spaces like airports or schools. Identify the local rapid response reporting number and store it in your phone so you’re ready if you see something happen in real time.

Buy lunch for a friend or coworker who is demographically (age, race, class, etc.) different from you. Ask them how they’re doing, and really listen to what they say.
Don’t dive directly into politics. Just build the relationship naturally, one lunch at a time.
