Get some window paints and decorate your car with seasonal progressive messages. How about Hanukah images from DEC 14th-22nd? Or if you have wild art skills, depict a nativity scene disrupted by ICE. Get creative and make ALL your neighbors feel welcome and jolly, too!

Holiday Market

Many ethnic communities rely on holiday markets to fund year-round programs. Cottage makers do too. Look through local event listings for seasonal fairs thrown by immigrant, minority or other local communities, and make it an outing!

Read a Book

Winter brings cozy weather for tea and reading. Order a couple of history or how-to books that will fuel your resistance, and make time to read them, or listen to audio books while you commute or clean. Re-train your mind to stick with one topic for more than a few minutes.

Cultural Calendaring

Put other communities’ holidays on your calendar, and post culturally appropriate greetings. Attend events or shop at craft fairs. Expose yourself to other traditions through the holiday season!

Micro-protest

There are dozens of tiny protests happening all across the country, all the time. You’ve likely driven by them: overpass signs or the same ten people outside the Tesla dealership. Join one today! Find out what they’re doing and join them for a while. Tell them you appreciate them being out there, and chat about resistance for a while. Celebrate C(h)an(n)uk(k)a(h)

Hate crimes against Jewish people are at an all-time high in America. A poll in February found more than half of American Jews have changed behaviors to avoid antisemitism. Almost one third report avoiding overtly Jewish events out of fear. So this year, find out if your town has a Channukah event (DEC14-21), and go stand with your Jewish neighbors. Let them know everyone deserve to celebrate holidays in joy and safety.
