Public Libraries

During Black History Month many libraries will have events and book displays. Visit your local library web site’s events page and see if there is something you’d like to attend. Walk in and ask if they have a list of recommended readings this month (or look for a display.) If you don’t have a library card, get one!

Cultural Calendaring

During Black History month, add a few dates important to the Black community to your calendar. Make sure important meetings don’t get scheduled on those dates, and post culturally-aware greetings for holidays or relevant education for historic dates. Become aware of the rhythms of other people’s lives.
