Almost one third report avoiding overtly Jewish events out of fear. So this year, find out if your town has a Channukah event (DEC14-21), and go stand with your Jewish neighbors. Let them know everyone deserve to celebrate holidays in joy and safety.

During Black History month, add a few dates important to the Black community to your calendar. Make sure important meetings don’t get scheduled on those dates, and post culturally-aware greetings for holidays or relevant education for historic dates. Tens of thousands of children face a dismal holiday season, all because our nation has decided nobody is innocent enough to evade detention. All too many of those detainees are children themselves. Buy a gift or donate cash to an immigration group buying gifts for children in detention, or left behind. Check with local immigration groups first. If you don’t find a program, we recommend Americans for Immigrant Justice, rated four stars by Charity Navigator.
