Hiding people
Today we build relationships and resources for targeted neighbors. Whether you have “a guy” who does the yard, or a roofing crew coming in, day-labor professions are being targeted and citizenship is ignored in ICE sweeps. Today we prepare: give some thought to your resources and connections and what you can do to be ready if and when a vulnerable neighbor needs refuge.
Build reserves
Take stock of the things you use regularly and when you see a sale, buy an extra unit. This avoids a “run on the bank” during a crisis, while building your reserves and resilience over time. Make it a habit: if it’s a good sale, buy two.
